MCSP turns career changers into certified data center safety professionals — placed on real projects, with a dedicated mentor in your corner, and real protection once you're hired.
Data center construction is one of the fastest-growing industries in America — hyperscalers like Meta, Google, and Microsoft are building at a scale the country has never seen. These sites have a serious safety talent shortage. Employers are hiring now. But there's no clear, structured path for career changers who are qualified and ready to make the move. That's exactly what we built.
The Program
Six structured steps built around the certifications, skills, and documentation discipline employers require on data center builds.
No construction experience needed. Submit your application, then book a free discovery call with our team to confirm fit and walk through your next steps — no cost, no obligation.
Free to apply · Discovery callAfter enrollment you receive your Package 1 materials: a custom Welcome Letter, the DC Safety Crash Course PDF, the OSHA 30 Crash Course PDF, and your Milestone Assignment Packet. This is your foundation. Study the crash courses, earn your four certifications, and complete your three assignments. Nothing advances until this phase is fully done.
Welcome letter · DC Safety Crash Course · OSHA 30 Crash Course · Milestone packetThis is a hard stop. You must submit all six items before anything else unlocks: your Procore CCMP certificate, NFPA 70E certificate, First Aid/CPR/AED certificate, completed JHA, corrective action report with OSHA citation, and your 4–8 minute toolbox talk recording. All six are verified by our team. Once confirmed, we issue your MCSP OSHA 30 Certificate and release Package 2.
CCMP · NFPA 70E · First Aid · JHA · Corrective Action · Toolbox TalkPackage 2 contains your DC Safety Quiz and OSHA 30 Quiz (20 questions each, 75% to pass, immediate retake allowed) plus your Professional Reference Request Form. Pass both quizzes and return your completed reference form. That's Gate 2 — and it unlocks Package 3 and your Readiness Call.
DC Safety Quiz · OSHA 30 Quiz · Reference formPackage 3 is where your career documents are built: your resume, recruiter screening script, LinkedIn and job platform guide, 1099/S-Corp setup guide, reference document, MCSP OSHA 30 Certificate, and MCSP Certificate of Completion. Then your Readiness Call happens — a final review with our team to confirm you're placement-ready. After the call, you'll receive a Feedback Survey and Referral Form. The Placement Track is opt-in from here.
Resume · Scripts · LinkedIn guide · MCSP cert · Readiness callOnce you opt into the Placement Track, our team gets to work building your full submission package: a custom Recruiter One-Sheet, your complete Certs & ID File, your approved resume, and a Letter of Recommendation signed personally by Desmond Walker, CCMP. You'll complete two mock interviews with our team before anything goes to employers. Once you're cleared, you become an Active Submission — your profile goes to our network of GC contacts, data center owners, and safety recruiters. Once placed, you receive a Mentor One Pager, a Hiring Company One Pager, and a custom Inspirational Letter. Your dedicated phone mentor calls the evening before Day 1, sends a written summary, checks in at 30 days, and closes out at 60 days.
Mock interviews · Full submission package · Active Submission · Dedicated phone mentorEvery application goes directly to our team. If you're serious about this transition, we want to hear from you.
What You Walk Away With
By the time your profile goes to employers, everything is reviewed, approved, and ready. You don't build this alone.
The full 30-hour Outreach certification — not the 10-hour. Required by most GCs before you step on a data center site. Once Gate 1 is cleared, MCSP issues you our own OSHA 30 Certificate in Package 3 — it goes into your Certs & ID File with your employer submission.
MCSP-issued in Package 3Certified Construction Management Professional — used on virtually every hyperscale build in the country. Completed through the official Procore LinkedIn Learning path (free first month).
Required for placementNavigating workplace electrical safety standards — essential on any active data center build where energized systems and de-energization work are ongoing. Free through Alison.com.
Required for placement · FreeA baseline requirement on virtually every GC's safety program. Completed free through Alison.com before Gate 1 is cleared.
Required for placement · FreeSafety-forward framing of your work history. ATS-optimized. Keyword-matched to the roles you're targeting. Reviewed and approved by our mentors before it goes anywhere.
Employer-readyEvery section of your LinkedIn, Indeed, and ZipRecruiter profiles written for you — optimized for recruiter keyword searches. Copy it in exactly as written.
Platform-readyWord-for-word answers to every question a recruiter will ask on a safety screening call — including the hard pushback questions about not having site hours yet.
Interview-readyA 10-section field guide covering everything you need before your first day on a mission-critical site — permit systems, LOTO, owner audits, foreman pushback, first 30 days.
Site-ready knowledgeA completed JHA, corrective action report, and toolbox talk recording — reviewed and approved before submission. Real work product that goes into your employer package.
Proof of capabilityIf you land a contract role, you need to understand how contractor income works — LLC formation, S-Corp election, quarterly taxes, and deductions. All covered before you sign anything.
Financial protectionYou complete the reference request form, return it to us, and we build the professional reference document included in your employer submission — formatted and ready.
Recruiter-readyA custom Letter of Recommendation written and signed by Desmond Walker, CCMP. Built in Placement Package 2 and included in your full employer submission file.
Placement package 2Once placed, your mentor receives a Hiring Company One Pager with site details, contacts, and the work environment. You receive a Mentor One Pager and Inspirational Letter as part of Placement Package 3.
Placement package 3The Opportunity
Entry-level safety roles on data center builds pay well from day one.
With per diem and overtime, total compensation regularly reaches and exceeds $100K in your first two years on mission-critical projects.
Who This Is For
You need discipline, documentation habits, and the drive to learn how a data center site operates. We build the rest.
OSHA compliance, equipment safety, documentation discipline — you already practice all of this. We help you translate it into construction safety credentials and get you paid more for it.
Leadership under pressure, safety protocols, high-stakes environments with concurrent operations. Your background is exactly what data center GCs want in a safety hire.
Regulated environments, forklift certs, hazmat handling, operational discipline. These transfer directly to a safety role on a construction site — and we know how to position them.
If you're serious about a career change, disciplined enough to complete the program, and ready to do the work — this was built for you. Commitment is the only real prerequisite.
Leadership
MCSP is built and led by active construction safety professionals with real hyperscale experience. The curriculum, scenarios, and site-specific training all come from people who've lived it.
Desmond brings 10 years of construction safety experience, including 3 years of direct hyperscale data center work. He led safety operations on a $1B+ Meta campus in New Albany, Ohio — 1,000,000+ sq ft, 5,000+ peak workers — maintaining zero OSHA recordable incidents through the full project lifecycle including commissioning. He built the safety program infrastructure from the ground up: SOPs, digital tracking platforms, and audit-defensible documentation aligned to Turner GC and Meta owner standards. MCSP is built from that same standard of discipline and professionalism.
Angel is an EHS Executive with over 20 years of experience developing and implementing safety programs across construction, industrial, healthcare, and energy sectors. She has served as Regional Corporate Safety Director for Safety Plus, Milestone LLC — overseeing multi-state projects across the US including GSA-regulated federal facilities and major data centers. Her track record includes zero recordable incident programs, $10M+ safety budget oversight, and measurable compliance improvements across multiple regions. At MCSP, Angel validates all curriculum for field accuracy and serves as a dedicated mentor to placed candidates through their first months on the job.
We develop safety professionals for the most demanding construction environments in the country — and we don't leave them alone once they're hired.

Post-Placement Support
Most programs stop at placement. MCSP starts there. Every placed candidate is assigned a dedicated mentor reachable by phone — with structured calls at Day 1, Day 30, and Day 60.
Upon placement, you're assigned a dedicated program mentor reachable by phone. Your mentor receives a complete package: Hiring Company One Pager (role, site expectations, contact chain, work environment), Mentor Duties Outline (Day 1/30/60 cadence, communication expectations, escalation rules, scope limitations), Mentor Fee Agreement ($250 stipend, Day 1–60 scope, confidentiality), and MCSP Contact & Emergency Procedures (escalation chain, jobsite emergency protocol, safety incident handling).
The evening before your first day, your mentor calls to confirm onboarding status, review job expectations, identify any early risks, and establish your communication rhythm. That same evening they send you a written Day 1 summary so nothing gets missed.
Performance and safety check. Supervisor relationship review. Retention risk assessment. Any issues are escalated immediately.
Stability evaluation, career trajectory review, final performance summary. Active monitoring closes out. You exit with your placement confirmed and your foundation built.
Top performers are invited back as program mentors — earning a $250 stipend per placement while building the next generation of MCSP candidates.
