MCSP turns career changers into certified data center safety professionals — placed on real projects, with a dedicated mentor in your corner, and real protection once you're hired.
Data center construction is one of the fastest-growing industries in America — hyperscalers like Meta, Google, and Microsoft are building at a scale the country has never seen. These sites have a serious safety talent shortage. Employers are hiring now. But there's no clear, structured path for career changers who are qualified and ready to make the move. That's exactly what we built.
The Program
Six structured steps built around the certifications, skills, and documentation discipline employers require on data center builds.
No construction experience needed. We look for professionals with discipline, documentation habits, and the commitment to make this career change. Submit your application, then get on a free 20-minute intro call to confirm fit and walk through next steps.
Free to apply · 20-min intro callSelf-paced video modules covering construction literacy, owner/GC/subcontractor structure, data center safety systems, LOTO, hot work permits, confined space entry, fall protection, energized electrical work, foreman pushback scenarios, incident response, and owner audit culture. You learn how mission-critical sites actually operate before you ever step on one.
Weeks 1–4 · Self-paced · 5–7 modules/weekThe full 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety certification and your Procore Certified Construction Management Professional — the two credentials data center recruiters filter by first. The entire program is built around earning both. By the time you're done, these are on your resume and in your hand.
OSHA 30-Hour · Procore CCMPWrite a real Job Hazard Analysis for an active data center scenario. Submit a corrective action report — including looking up the OSHA standard yourself. Record a 5-minute toolbox talk. Required for both tracks. These are proof you can do the job on day one, and they go into the package sent to employers.
JHA · Corrective Action Report · Toolbox Talk RecordingBefore anything goes to employers, you go through recruiter coaching and interview prep with our team. We walk through your screening call script live, practice the hard questions, and confirm you're ready to represent yourself the right way. Once you pass your placement readiness call, your profile goes to our network of GC contacts, data center owners, and safety recruiters.
Recruiter coaching · Interview prep · Active GC + recruiter networkOnce you're hired, you're assigned a dedicated program mentor you can reach by phone. They conduct a Day 1 orientation call, a 30-day check-in to review your adjustment, and a 60-day retention review to confirm your placement. We don't leave you alone once you're hired. That's not a tagline — it's the program.
Dedicated phone mentor · Day 1 call · 30-day check-in · 60-day reviewEvery application goes directly to our team. If you're serious about this transition, we want to hear from you.
What You Walk Away With
By the time your profile goes to employers, everything is reviewed, approved, and ready. You don't build this alone.
The full 30-hour Outreach certification — not the 10-hour. Required by most GCs before you step on a data center site. We build your training around completing this by end of Week 2.
Required for placementCertified Construction Management Professional — used on virtually every hyperscale build in the country. Completed through the official Procore LinkedIn Learning path by end of Week 3.
Required for placementSafety-forward framing of your work history. ATS-optimized. Keyword-matched to the roles you're targeting. Reviewed and approved by our mentors before it goes anywhere.
Employer-readyEvery section of your LinkedIn, Indeed, and ZipRecruiter profiles written for you — optimized for recruiter keyword searches. Copy it in exactly as written.
Platform-readyWord-for-word answers to every question a recruiter will ask on a safety screening call — including the hard pushback questions about not having site hours yet.
Interview-readyA 10-section field guide covering everything you need before your first day on a mission-critical site — permit systems, LOTO, owner audits, foreman pushback, first 30 days.
Site-ready knowledgeA completed JHA, corrective action report, and toolbox talk recording — reviewed and approved before submission. Real work product that goes into your employer package.
Proof of capabilityIf you land a contract role, you need to understand how contractor income works — LLC formation, S-Corp election, quarterly taxes, and deductions. All covered before you sign anything.
Financial protectionYou complete the reference request form, return it to us, and we build the professional reference document included in your employer submission — formatted and ready.
Recruiter-readyThe Opportunity
Entry-level safety roles on data center builds pay well from day one.
With per diem and overtime, total compensation regularly reaches and exceeds $100K in your first two years on mission-critical projects.
Who This Is For
You need discipline, documentation habits, and the drive to learn how a data center site operates. We build the rest.
OSHA compliance, equipment safety, documentation discipline — you already practice all of this. We help you translate it into construction safety credentials and get you paid more for it.
Leadership under pressure, safety protocols, high-stakes environments with concurrent operations. Your background is exactly what data center GCs want in a safety hire.
Regulated environments, forklift certs, hazmat handling, operational discipline. These transfer directly to a safety role on a construction site — and we know how to position them.
If you're serious about a career change, disciplined enough to complete the program, and ready to do the work — this was built for you. Commitment is the only real prerequisite.
Leadership
MCSP is built and led by active construction safety professionals with real hyperscale experience. The curriculum, scenarios, and site-specific training all come from people who've lived it.
Desmond brings 10 years of construction safety experience, including 3 years of direct hyperscale data center work. He led safety operations on a $1B+ Meta campus in New Albany, Ohio — 1,000,000+ sq ft, 5,000+ peak workers — maintaining zero OSHA recordable incidents through the full project lifecycle including commissioning. He built the safety program infrastructure from the ground up: SOPs, digital tracking platforms, and audit-defensible documentation aligned to Turner GC and Meta owner standards. MCSP is built from that same standard of discipline and professionalism.
Angel is an EHS Executive with over 20 years of experience developing and implementing safety programs across construction, industrial, healthcare, and energy sectors. She has served as Regional Corporate Safety Director for Safety Plus, Milestone LLC — overseeing multi-state projects across the US including GSA-regulated federal facilities and major data centers. Her track record includes zero recordable incident programs, $10M+ safety budget oversight, and measurable compliance improvements across multiple regions. At MCSP, Angel validates all curriculum for field accuracy and serves as a dedicated mentor to placed candidates through their first months on the job.
We develop safety professionals for the most demanding construction environments in the country — and we don't leave them alone once they're hired.
